Peripheral
is an international festival of site-specific performance practices.
Peripheral’s programming combines art and performance, music and theater, architecture and civic design by relating the artistic quality of each intervention to the unrepeatable characteristics offered by the individual locations identified punctually by the artistic direction with the guest artists.
Verso Sera is the summer festival that Amigdala has been curating at the West Modena Artisan Village since 2017; it is produced as part of Estate Modenese and is funded by the City of Modena.
In search of an informal setting that can foster encounters between audiences and different artistic languages, Verso Sera experiments with different forms of enjoyment of cultural content.
Necessary for the development of site-specific arts and the activation of community processes, art residencies provide a ground for work and experimentation that connects artists with the historical and cultural heritage of the West Modena Artisan Village. The residencies, which are also multidisciplinary, are informally accompanied by the artistic direction of Amigdala, which, in addition to offering appropriate hospitality, facilitates community encounters and study of the area and is available for dialogues and comparisons on the artistic level.
