Elementare was born as a one-of-a-kind live performance: six voices cross an entire night with their singing, from midnight to sunrise. The space is shared with the audience, a set specially set up for people to watch, listen, fall asleep, wake up. Elementare is a ritual consisting of ten songs that are repeated six times during the course of the night, always different, always accompanied by vocal improvisation parts. The effect on the audience is engaging, magnetic, moving. Elementareis a performance that moves on boundaries, dilates spaces, and creates an unprecedented and powerful condition of listening and fruition.
Performance Elementare, produced by the Amigdala Collective, from 2018 to the present has been brought live to festivals scattered all over the country, has been reviewed by various publications in the theater and performing arts sectors, and has been hosted on prominent media channels, including the Piazza Verdi – Radio3 program, with live and interview.
Compounding the lockdown and the cancellation of several reruns, between 2020 and 2021 Amigdala produced recordings of the original music collected in the album of the same name,
Elementary
. Pressed on vinyl with the lyrics in dual languages, Italian and English,
Elementary
becomes a collector’s item and a testimony rich in meaning and references for a highly passionate and motivated niche audience.
The project’s record release on collector’s vinyl thus benefits from an audience pool and exposure that weaves together multiple channels beyond the more strictly musical (often already saturated) ones. Not surprisingly, the project sees the collaboration of Kunstverein, a Milan-based art gallery, publisher and curator active throughout Europe, while promotion is entrusted to Silvia Bellucci, press office for, among others, Internazionale Festival, Premio Ciampi, Festival della Filosofia at the Milan Triennale.
The release is scheduled for spring 2021, i.e., at the gates of the new festival season; it will be accompanied by several showcases presenting the release organized by the project partners in major Italian cities. The booking and distribution of the show at theater industry channels are by Vittoria Lombardi / Culture and Projects and Collettivo Amigdala.
All texts contained within the publication are translated from Italian to English in order to reach foreign audiences with greater accessibility.

MEIKE CLARELLI
Component of Amigdala Collective. She is a musician, vocal researcher and singer. She is the founder and singer of the independent groups La Metralli and Dueventi. She has won several awards as a songwriter and composer. She is director of the women’s choirs Le chemin des femmes and Core Voci Indisciplinate. She teaches singing and music through an original method she created called Sensitive Singing. He recently collaborated with Argentine theater director Lola Arias on the project

DAVIDE FASULO
He is a composer and poly-instrumentalist producer. Currently active within the La Metralli and Dueventi projects, he is a teacher at several musical institutes and collaborates with several independent realities of the Italian theater scene. He composes as a solo author under the moniker Whitear.
AMIGDALA
It is a collective formed by a multidisciplinary group of young female professionals and an association founded in Modena in 2005. Works in the fields of artistic production, urban regeneration and social innovation, and performing arts. He has been curating the Peripheral Festival project since 2008.
