for those we love and for those who, unknown, are beside us.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>She sings above all to tell and reiterate that what is particular and different in its subjective uniqueness should not feel constrained or forced to conform to everything else &#8230; but on the contrary has the right to feel free and free to desire and be as she wishes.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;[\/vc_hoverbox][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section full_width=&#8221;stretch_row&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1591699515691-f36d31b8-aa72&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span class=\"s1\"><i>&#8220;Our choir is intergenerational and cross-cultural.<br \/>\nIt unites professional and non-professional women, holds together women who are very different from each other: some of them are religious, some of them are anarchists, some of them are very young women about to meet life, some of them are mothers, some of them have a lifetime of experience behind them.<br \/>\nThese diversities over time have taught us to understand what the practices of inclusion, listening, tolerance, freedom, play and resistance mean. They taught us to face fear and joy together. They taught us to be distinct and together at the same time.<br \/>\nKeeping this chorus alive was finally for us to enact concrete artistic, cultural and political actions.&nbsp;<br \/>\nResistance goes through the voice, becomes a voice-and when we sing, the diversity of each of us is embodied in one voice.&#8221;<\/i><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"p1\">&nbsp;<\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Le Chemin des Femmes<\/strong> was born in November 2008 as a result of a Sensitive Singing workshop within the &#8220;Semira Adamu&#8221; project of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donnecontroviolenza.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">House of Women Against Violence in Modena<\/a> and within a short time became a full-fledged choir. The <a href=\"http:\/\/cantosensibile.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n  <b>Sensitive Singing<\/b><br \/>\n<\/a>, developed by Meike Clarelli herself, is a singing method that integrates various techniques directed at the voice, body perception and breath and that are aimed at the acquisition of an awareness of one&#8217;s own vocality.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The initial ensemble consists of women from different cultural backgrounds, united by a common passion for singing and the experience of migration. The women in the choir had had the courage to leave their country, sometimes their family, driven by the desire to find a better life and fulfill their plans through the experience of migration. A number of Italian women joined the chorus driven by a desire to learn about and meet musicalities different from their own, who share an experience of migration within the Italian territory and an inner flexibility, as well as a precarious life that makes them also feel somehow &#8220;migrant.&#8221;  <\/span><span class=\"s2\">In its ten years of existence, the choir has seen over 50 female choristers from at least fifteen countries: the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco, Moldova, Ukraine, Argentina, the United States of America, Spain (Basque Country) as well as, of course, Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In recent years, more women have joined, not necessarily from different backgrounds or with migration experience; at the same time, the African component of the choir has begun to participate more flexibly, and the label of a migrant women&#8217;s choir is beginning to fit tighter and tighter:  <b>le Chemin des Femmes is above all a chorus of women united by a desire to sing and resist through voice.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The choir currently has about 20 members and is open to the entry of new women.  <\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;The director&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1591700063753-2b18d342-0fd0&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3696\" src=\"https:\/\/collettivoamigdala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Meike-Clarelli-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"564\" srcset=\"https:\/\/collettivoamigdala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Meike-Clarelli-01.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/collettivoamigdala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Meike-Clarelli-01-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/collettivoamigdala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Meike-Clarelli-01-768x433.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h5>Meike Clarelli<\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Musician and vocal researcher with a diverse background ranging from music, theater, and poetry. He graduated in 2001 from the Emilia Romagna Teatri School for Actors in Modena, where he worked with directors and actors such as: Monica Klinger, Cesar Brie, Raffaella Giordano, Stefano Vercelli, Magda Siti, Mamadou Dioume.<br \/>\nHe is attending the University of Contemporary Music and Jazz, at the Frescobaldi Conservatory of Ferrara.<br \/>\nHe later studied singing and vocal pedagogy with&nbsp;<b>Imke Buchholz McMurtrie<\/b>&nbsp;(Germany), folk\/ethnic singing with&nbsp;<b>Germana Giannini<\/b>, and began in 2001 with&nbsp;<b>Elisa Benassi<\/b>&nbsp;a course of study on psychophonetic singing and psychophony.<br \/>\nIn 2004 he studied Sufi singing with music-therapist Alev Naqiba Kowalez. He studied Chinese music and Er Ou (traditional violin) with Master Wong in China. From 2003 to 2007 he studied opera singing with teacher Paola Matarrese. He has studied classical guitar, martial arts and Chinese medicine and has a background in psychoanalysis.<br \/>\nHe has developed in recent years a methodology for working on the voice called&nbsp;<i>Sensitive Singing<\/i>&nbsp;which he has been teaching in Modena since 2004, in Bologna since 2015 and of which he holds seminars in various cities in Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In 2008 she founded the Women&#8217;s Choir &#8220;<b>Le Chemin des Femmes<\/b>,&#8221;&nbsp;consisting of Italian women together with women from various parts of the world, which she still directs.<br \/>\nThe same year he founded the music group&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lametralli.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n  <b>La Metralli<\/b><br \/>\n<\/a>, in which she is a singer and composer, winner of the 2012 Ciampi Prize and selected for the 2014 Tenco Prize.&nbsp;&nbsp;Since 2016 he has joined&nbsp;as a singer and multi-instrumentalist in the music collective<b>&nbsp;<\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/dueventi.live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Two Winds<\/strong><\/a><b>&nbsp;<\/b>which blends improvised music&nbsp;with electronic, jazz, contemporary and rock music.<br \/>\nSince 2014 he has been a member of the Collective&nbsp;<b>Amigdala<\/b>&nbsp;who produces perfomative installation works, as a sound dramaturge&nbsp;and is co-director&nbsp;artistic director of the&nbsp;<i><a href=\"https:\/\/collettivoamigdala.com\/en\/peripheral-festival\/\"><br \/>\n  <strong>Peripheral Festival<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a>.<\/i><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;The experience of female choristers&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1591701806539-88c6bba4-b4b0&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I like it because the image it brings out is of a diversity society that is politically new and of resistance through voice.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Benedetta<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;It gave me the joy of life, Le Chemin des Femmes is a combination of madness, anarchy and joy.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Lisa<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I remember once in the early days we got into Meike&#8217;s panda in a dozen or so and sang around the block at the Women&#8217;s House in Modena.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Ernestine<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;Meike urges us to bring out the crazy part of us: I once in the improvisation sniffed my armpit with a passionate gesture, and it&#8217;s a gesture that we have even replayed at the Modena Conservatory.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<\/i><strong>&#8211; Luciana<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;We bought white and blonde wigs following the teaching of our African friends.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Maria Elena<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;At one concert, to promote our CD, I used to pull it out from under my skirt.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Gabriella<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;<i>It took us many years to understand the different attitude of African women toward &#8216;rehearsing&#8217;: for them singing is spontaneous, playful, irreverent, sensual even when it has a spiritual and religious meaning. And in such a view for them, rehearsals are meaningless: you sing by living in the moment &#8211; and that&#8217;s it!<\/i>&#8220;<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; Meike<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;We call ourselves anarchists, more because of our habit of doing things instinctively and passionately. Meike is capable of twisting a song during the rehearsal before a concert, making us panic! Our strength I think is the energy we convey as a group, able to cope with change with confidence in our director&#8217;s artistic gaze and our resilience&#8230;it is these aspects that create a kind of magic that accompanies us to every concert, despite our &#8216;bananas&#8217; (a term coined with Ghanaian friends to define mistakes).&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<\/i><strong>&#8211; Maria Elena<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\n  <i><br \/>\n    <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I like this union of cultures because it creates a new identity, and that in itself is art.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n    <\/p>\n<p>  <\/i><br \/>\n  <strong>&#8211; <\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><strong><br \/>\n  <span class=\"s2\">Benedetta<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I liked it right away because of this spontaneity and taste of thrill, creating something beautiful and meaningful from making do.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Fulvia<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;It&#8217;s a different, non-traditional choir that experiments and mixes different skills, cultures, and manages to get the best result.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Alexandra<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\n  <i><br \/>\n    <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I came in to sing with some freedom of expression, and I like it because we do crazy things without giving much importance to technique.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n    <\/p>\n<p>  <\/i><br \/>\n  <strong>&#8211; <\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><strong><br \/>\n  <span class=\"s1\">Georgina<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;We share in a space of freedom on another level of the deep things that bind us anyway, the emotional energy of being among women, connected to roots, to nature.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Luciana<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><i><br \/>\n  <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;Working on the voice founds its own sound identity and collectively gives itself as a female identity, strong and almost warrior-like. These women are alive and are able to channel it into song; we found a way to show this beauty they have in singing.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p><\/i><strong>&#8211; Meike<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;The proposal&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1591707826958-58266d53-53f3&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><br \/>\n  <span class=\"s1\">Le Chemin des Femmes works with improvisation and vocal polyphony, using voices as instruments<\/span><br \/>\n  <span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\n  <\/p>\n<p>  <strong>Rehearsals are also a time of composition from which experimental pieces are constructed that speak of the freedom of human beings, particularly women. <\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The repertoire at first drew from the cultural and musical substrate that each woman in the course of the meetings freely delivered to the group and that Meike rearranged. Over the years, contaminations from the pop world and contemporary music have also been added: <strong>today the choir sings songs that draw from the Ghanaian tradition to Brazilian and Afro-American, classical, pop and punk, in a mixture of melodies and popular themes from different geographical and cultural origins <\/strong>.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Le Chemin des Femmes benefits from the valuable collaboration of musician Davide Fasulo, who helps arrange the songs and writes the scores.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">How crazy is that? The choir has a director who as a true artist is really crazy, but the individual singers are no less! Le Chemin des Femmes seeks to break conformity, sometimes with irreverent actions, giving birth to a style outside the lines, intended to be not only artistic expression, but also political and cultural.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Our Companions: Le Core&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1591699515691-f14ce75a-0aa9&#8243;][vc_column_text]<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/Corevociindisciplinate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n  <em><br \/>\n    <strong>The Cores &#8211; unruly voices<\/strong><br \/>\n  <\/em><br \/>\n<\/a>&nbsp;is a young women&#8217;s choir born in Bologna from the vocal workshop organized by the<a href=\"http:\/\/associazionejaya.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\n  <strong>Jaya Association<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a>, which gathers the experience and repertoire of Le Chemin des Femmes, declining it with its own strongly feminist, combative and intergenerational sensibility in the Bologna area. Le donne sono semplici dinamiche di relazione. \u00c8 la situazione a determinare gli atti. \nLa forma \u00e8 quella del sogno, vessillo allucinato dell\u2019esistenza psichica, caos ordinato di cui si possono ipotizzare tre fasi: situazione traumatica originaria, movimento di resistenza, attesa. Ogni cambiamento di stato, ogni profonda trasformazione inizia da un\u2019attesa. La voce \u00e8 ci\u00f2 che ne descrive il percorso. Voce imperfetta che sussurra, che grida. Voce libera dalla parola che diventa ponte d\u2019incontro e luogo d\u2019immersione per coprirsi con un velo umido di difesa. It is inspired by Butch Morris&#8217;s Conduction, but differs from it in the elaboration of a specific vocabulary and language that Le Chemin des Femmes has developed from its history of research and musical relationships. In tal modo il vocabolario dell\u2019improvvisazione guidata risulta funzionale all\u2019interno di qualsiasi forma, stile e tradizione\nmusicale, e pu\u00f2 essere impiegato come un ampliamento della direzione tradizionale e\nutilizzabile con altri interpreti musicisti e anche con danzatori. Avviene un\u2019interazione tra il\ndirettore e l\u2019ensemble, tra la singola corista e il direttore, tra la corista e il compositore, tra\nl\u2019ensemble e i danzatori, ed infine tra il compositore ed il pubblico che entra a far parte di\nquesto incontro.\n\u00c8 dunque scrittura simbolica e improvvisazione, composizione ed esecuzione allo stesso\nmomento. Si tratta di un \u201crimettere al mondo\u201d la memoria dello spazio attraverso un rapporto reale e fisico con e nei luoghi (Landscape-Mindscape-Walkscape).\nLa prima parte del progetto ha reso questi territori un \u201claboratorio camminato\u201d, durante il quale diversi invitati, individuati dall\u2019artista, hanno percorso e guardato insieme ai partecipanti alcuni sentieri del Monte Bulgheria, raccontando ognuno a modo proprio cosa significhi \u201cfare paesaggio\u201d.\nDa queste esperienze condivise e a partire dalle suggestioni proposte dagli ospiti, Claudia Losi ha composto un testo che ha abitato temporaneamente questi monti di calcare.\nMusicato da Meike Clarelli, il testo \u00e8 stato cantato dal coro delle Chemin des Femmes, che, disposto lungo il sentiero in diversi punti del monte, ha accompagnato la camminata dei visitatori riempiendo lo spazio con un canto polifonico con uno schema musicale ricco e complesso.
